Want better skin from the inside out?
We have put together some of our favourite smoothie recipes, which all contain foods that have properties to help your skin and hair, they are great for Summer. We all know that food is so essential for our skin, these smoothies all contain lots of superfoods and Vitamin C, which is a vital ingredient in getting you healthy skin from the inside.
Glowing skin berry smoothie
Our secret skin ingredient in this recipe is Flaxseeds. Flaxseed is a reasonably new superfood, which helps to reduce skin irritation, rashes, and red patches, through regular consumption, therefore this glowing skin smoothie has all the ingredients to reduce redness and skin flare-ups.
60 ml water
1 bottle of LQ Skin, Hair and Nails
85 grams of blueberries fresh or frozen
40 grams raspberries fresh or frozen
40 grams of strawberries fresh or frozen
30 grams kale center stem removed
170 grams Greek yogurt 0% fat
One tablespoon honey
Two teaspoons flax seeds
The Smoothie recipe for hair growth
Spinach is an outstanding food when it comes to the health of your hair and hair growth. Spinach contains iron, Vitamin A, and C as well as protein, which aid growth and help prevent hair loss, which could help post pregnancy and slow down the ageing process. Omega-3 acid, potassium, magnesium, iron and calcium, all found in spinach help to reduce dandruff, dry scalp and keep your hair healthy.
Cucumber is enzyme-rich water and antioxidants, which keeps your skin soft and helps reduce and slow down the appearance of wrinkles.
To make this smoothie, you will need :
1 cup of spinach
½ of a medium cucumber
One tablespoon of Honey
One small-medium sized apple
One bottle of LQ skin, hair and nails
One tablespoon of Flaxseeds
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/3 cup Greek yoghurt
One serving of Maca powder.
Add the ingredients into a blender for about 40 seconds until you are happy.
Coco Loco smoothie
By adding coconut water to your smoothie, reduces the thickness and speeds up the healing time of acne or spots. Anti-oxidant properties of coconut water along with its high levels of Vitamin C, which is one of our desired vitamins for skin health, helps in speeding up your skins recovery time if you have been sunburnt, which makes this a great smoothie to make in the heatwave.
You will need :
1/2 cup plain coconut water
Two frozen ripe bananas, previously peeled & sliced
1 cup chopped pineapple
1 cup diced mango
2 cups spinach or kale
1/2 avocado, sliced
One bottle of LQ Skin, Hair and Nails
