Liquid Marine Collagen (PEPTAN®)
Peptan® is a high-quality, easily digested liquid marine collagen which contains more than 97 percent protein. Collagen is the main building block of connective tissue, including cartilage, which can deteriorate over time. Cartilage is the tissue that sits on the surface of the bones and provides a smooth contour so bone and joints can glide over one another smoothly. A collagen network in the joints is essential for strong and flexible cartilage which withstands the movement of joints. As we age, less collagen is formed and the stiffness of the collagen increases, while its ability to withstand damage decreases. With 2000 mg of Peptan marine collagen per daily bottle, LQ Joint Care has the optimum amount of marine collagen per daily bottle.
Hyaluronic acid is a component of cartilage and holds up to 1,000 times its own weight in moisture. It is naturally occurring in the human body and forms an important part of the synovial fluid that provides joints with lubrication and shock absorption. By middle age, we produce roughly half the hyaluronic acid we need.
Glucosamine plays an important role in producing the essential building blocks of many parts of the joints, including ligaments, tendons, cartilage and synovial fluid. LQ Joint Care contains liquid glucosamine for better absorption over pills.
Chrondroitin is a naturally occurring component of human connective tissues found in cartilage and tendons. It enhances the shock-absorbing properties of collagen and blocks enzymes that break down cartilage. It also helps cartilage retain water, which in turn improves joint lubrication.
Ginger is used in Chinese medicine to treat arthritis and joint pain.
Copper is stored in bones and muscle and is a requirement for joint health, particularly as we age, as it contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissue.
Lychee is known in traditional Chinese medicine as a fruit with “hot” properties.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen production, and is not stored in the body. This means that we must get Vitamin C from our food or daily supplements.
Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
