Do you need a morning and evening skincare routine?

You wake up every morning with the same skin as the night before. However, this doesn’t mean your morning and evening skincare routine should be the same. It may be convenient to use the same products twice a day, but, your skin is exposed to different things all day. Your skin during the day has to deal with makeup, dirt and bacteria. Whereas your skin in the evening only has your pillow to deal with. Find out how your morning and evening routines should differ.

Morning routine

Step 1: Wash

Skip your cleanser first thing and instead wash your face with only water. It will remove impurities from the night and help hydrate skin.

Step 2: Toner

Toner helps balance the PH levels and helps absorb the products you apply after, so it is a great product to use first thing.

Step 3: Serum

Serum will help to target any specific skincare concerns you have, such as dehydration, dark spots and wrinkles.

Step 4: Eye cream

Light cream is needed around this area due to the skin being thin and fragile. Move from the inside of the eye to the outer corner so that this area can be protected all day long.

Step 5: Suncream

Suncream needs to be worn every day, not just on your summer holiday. Doing this will help protect the skin from UV rays and avoid wrinkles, fine lines and dark spots caused by this.

Step 6: Supplement

Before breakfast is a great time to take your daily supplement. Skin, hair and nails are formulated to target and improve your skin health. It has ingredients such as Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Biotin and many more skin-boosting ingredients.

Evening routine

Step 1: Cleanser

An oil-based cleanser will be the best place to start as it can break down any oil-based makeup and remove any impurities within the skin.

Step 2: Double-cleansing

Following the first cleanse, use a water-based cleaner to remove the oil left over.

Step 3: Exfoliate twice a week

Two times a week use an exfoliator to remove any dead skin cells. This can help to promote glowing skin and give you a great complexion while unblocking pores.

Step 4: Toner

This step you can repeat the same as in the morning so your skin can be balanced at both ends of the day.

Step 5: Sheet mask

If you are finding your skin needs some extra hydration, a sheet mask is a great option. All skin types can see benefits from using this, and it can help reduce some of the effects of premature ageing.

Step 6: Moisturiser

A great night time moisturiser is the best way to end your skincare routine. It will keep all the products and ingredients you have applied, locked in and allow you to wake up hydrated and with a great complexion.
