As Autumn begins and the mornings get darker, it is common for productivity to decrease. With that in mind, we wanted to put together some tips on being motivated. Let’s face it, getting out of bed is hard.
Please read on to find our top tips on how you can get out of bed earlier and make the most of your day.
1. Get a good night’s sleep
There’s no doubt that tiredness affects how motivated we are. If you are tired, you don’t want to do as much.
This might sound like a no-brainer, but it’s not going to be possible to wake up early if you didn’t get a good nights sleep. A general good rule to follow is to go to sleep seven and a half hours before you need to go up. By sticking to this rule, this ensures you have enough sleep cycles not to feel tired.
2. Don’t snooze
If you press snooze, your body goes back into a new sleep cycle stage, meaning when you wake up the next time you are likely to feel even worse.
3. Think positive
End and begin the day by reminding yourself of something that happened you are grateful for. Sometimes we get so wrapped up. We need to take a moment each day to reflect.
4. Complete a small task
The best way to get your day off to a good start is by completing a trivial task. This may have been something you have been putting off, like the washing up or cleaning your desk.
5. Treat yourself
Treat yourself once you get up. Take the time to enjoy your breakfast or spend some time relaxing with a book. Then you will be in a better place to get going with your day! Why not have a mocktail?
6. Have a healthy breakfast
A healthy breakfast like an omelette, smoothies or avocado on toast will set you up and give you all the energy you need to get you through the day. You can also add a supplement to your morning routine, before your breakfast to give your body a kick start.
