Directions for use

Water, blackcurrant juice concentrate, barley beta glucan, aqueous extract of green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), raspberry flavouring, extract of grape seed (Vitis vinifera) containing resveratrol, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), lycopene (maltodextrine, modified food starch, colour: lycopene from tomatoes, thickeners: sugar esters, soy lecithin), cranberry flavouring, preservative: potassium sorbate, vitamin E acetate (vitamin E), sweetener: sucralose, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1), folic acid (vitamin B9).
Beta-glucan is a soluble fibre which scientists know has a cholesterol lowering effect. This substance is found in several foods, including grains especially barley and oats, as well as in pulses, fruits and vegetables.
Beta-glucan is classified as a polysaccharide, which is a large molecule made up of several sugar molecules. Oat derived beta-glucan may have a high therapeutic benefit potential.
Soluble fibre is not only beneficial for heart health it also helps slow down the absorption of sugars from the diet. This means that it can help to control blood sugar levels, which are particularly important for diabetics. Other uses include stimulating the immune system and in conjunction with cancer treatments.
Lycopene is a carotenoid found in tomatoes and other red fruits and vegetables. Lycopene has antioxidant and anti-proliferative properties that help reduce blood pressure, protect the skin against photo-damage, can protect against UV-light-induces arrhythmia and prevent cancer (especially prostate).
With its antioxidant role, lycopene prevents the oxidation of bad cholesterol, reduces blood pressure, which in turn is very good for the heart as it reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, improves the functioning of blood vessels and reduces coronary heart disease. Lycopene also significantly reduces the risk of having a stroke. One study showed that individuals with high levels of lycopene are half as likely to have a heart attack as those with low levels.
Resveratrol from grape seed contributes to cardiovascular health. Some studies suggest that resveratrol may help reduce inflammation, reduce the formation of blood clots and also prevent the oxidation of the bad cholesterol. All of these factors help reduce the risk of heart disease and heart attacks. Resveratrol has also been shown to reduce the length and irregularities in a common heart rhythm problem: atrial fibrillation which can lead to stoke, heart failure and death.
Green tea helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels and helps to preserve the elasticity of blood vessels.
